Located in four coastal cities in Mexico, the Grand Mayan Resort is the largest and most luxurious offering by Grupo Vidanta / Grupo Mayan resorts to date. They offer large accommodations in well kept buildings that are located on beautifully manicured properties. The four cities are Acapulco, Nuevo Vallarta, San Jose del Cabo, all of which are on the west coast of Mexico, and the Riviera Maya region between Cancun and Playa del Carmen on the east coast of Mexico.
Each resort has its own feel and attractiveness. For example, the most widely discussed feature of the Nuevo Vallarta resort is the water park. It features two wave pools, a Lazy River and a swimming pool in which many visitors get their mile or two of swimming exercise as they swim from one end, under walkways and into several private areas.
The resort at San Jose del Cabo is called intimate, and is the smallest of the Grand Mayan footprints.
Many members of the various Grupo Vidanta / Grupo Mayan vacation and residence clubs feel the Riviera Maya location is the most diverse and attractive. Lower buildings on a massive property makes visitors feel as though they are in their own world. Additionally, the area is full of historical landmarks and locations that make visiting the Riviera Maya an educational vacation.
Finally, Acapulco is making a comeback of sorts. Newer locations have taken away some of Acapulco's luster. But, that is about to change, big time!
Take a look at each location. We have only been to the Nuevo Vallarta location but look forward to staying at all of them.
