Vacationing incorporates ownership of something or renting something.
What is best for you? What should you consider when deciding what to do? How do we value the different options? What is more important...flexibility, cost, stability, location, amenities?
Our family has enjoyed their trips to Mexico and staying at our timeshare. Some of our friends enjoy their summers and winters at their second homes at Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, Carmel, Huntington Lake and any number of other places. Others love the ability to use second homes in different places through their Destination Club and Fractional Ownerships. Still others believe it is better for them to "pay as you go" by staying in hotels or renting from other timeshare owners.
In the coming weeks, we will present information that addresses the virtues of the different ways of vacationing.
It is not a simple matter for some, for others, it is very simple.
Regardless, we will see that nothing is perfect, that all ways of vacationing have good and not so good aspects, and in the end, it is very personal.
Please note that we have moved the "What's a Timeshare" and "What's a Residence Club" sections as sub-heads to our new section called Ownership.
